Modern slavery statement

Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a formal statement from businesses with a turnover of £36 million or more. Defected Clothing is below that threshold and is not legally required to publish one. This is published voluntarily.

Position

Defected Clothing does not tolerate forced labour, child labour or human trafficking anywhere in its supply chain, and will end a supplier relationship where it finds them.

Supply chain

⚠ Not yet published. This statement is only worth anything if it names the actual supply chain: who manufactures the blank garments, where, and what due diligence has been carried out on them.

Those facts have not been supplied, and a general assurance with no supply chain behind it is exactly the kind of statement this legislation exists to discourage. It will be completed rather than quietly left as it is.
